Take your Flash projects to the next level by moving beyond tweens and the timeline with an understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) with Flash's powerful ActionScript language! This course from
Boulder Digital Arts will explore the basic programming concepts of ActionScript including functions, variables, event handling, conditional statements and loops.
The workshop will cover:
- Differences between AS 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0
- Working with Objects, Classes, Methods, and Properties
- Controlling movie clips and timelines with ActionScript
- Loading and communicating with external graphics and video
- Building Preloaders
- Dynamic text and arrays
- Mouse and keyboard detection
- Trace statements
- Using math operators
- Incorporating content from external XML and text files
Additionally we will discuss integrating Flash elements into websites and things to consider if you are going to use Flash as a front-end interface for database driven content.
