This class from
Boulder Digital Arts will teach you how to use WordPress 2.7 as a content-creation or management tool. We will focus specifically on "self-hosted" sites - where you're using your own domain name on your own hosting account - as opposed to the blogging service.
The workshop will cover:
-The WordPress Admin panel, user management tools, and widgets
-Posts vs Pages - an explanation of the "static" pages vs dated entries
-Setting up categories and file hierarchies
-Working with images, video, and other embedded media
-The editor - all about TinyMCE and ways to enhance/expand it
-Links, permalinks, and URLs - how to make your URLs more useful and esthetic
-Adding plug-ins - where to get them, how to install them, a few favorites.
-Comment moderation - preferences, moderation, spam control
-Sitemaps and keywords - making Google love your site
-Working with image hosting services
