This workshop will cover the approach, execution and post-production of portrait photography. Approach will include discussion about preproduction, scouting, choosing a location, previsualization, and attention to details. Execution will explore how to dispel judgment and make the subject comfortable, with a focus on moving into the moment. We will discuss composition and simple lighting technique, using one light and reflectors.
This workshop will apply to the location portrait, aimed at all photographers at all skill levels who may not have sophisticated lighting equipment. Studio portrait lighting will not be covered, though some principles will apply.
Post-production will touch upon Photoshop tools that can enhance the final effect. We will not be going to go into this in-depth, as the intent of the course will be how to avoid the common mistakes in approach and maximizing success regardless of the situation. The instructor will also tailor the workshop to individual questions and problem solving as time allows.
